Our group was looking for how we can represent a complement with an image. We were looking when Alyssa had the idea of searching for a picture of "The Ugly Duckling" for several reasons. First of all, very small insults really had a big impact on him. All the other cute ducklings were insulting and saying unfriendly that really made him depressed and sad. However, when the swans in the story told him about his true potential, he found how high he could soar. Alyssa's idea of ugly duckling definitely fit to our topic.

Analysis:
We were amazed about how harmful a few words can be to anyone. Just like the ugly duckling, we can all be hurt by small words, but also can find our true potential. This definitely relates to our thesis because the other beautiful ducklings were not complementing and it really brought him down that didn't create peace, but brought contention, as the ugly duckling was thrown out of the nest. In addition, as shown in the picture, you can see that the ugly duckling looks very different from the other ducklings. This is the only reason that he/she was influenced. Importantly, this can happen to anyone and would be affected by complementing. The other ducks assumed that since he looked a certain way, he would act different from them, and they thought that that was bad. So they kicked him out from among them.
